Discover new ways to manage your finances at our Free Money Smart Classes going on now. The Money Smart for Adults are instructor-led courses that consist of several training modules that cover basic financial topics. Topics include a description of deposit and credit services offered by financial institutions, choosing and maintaining a checking account, spending plans, the importance of saving, how to obtain and use credit effectively, the basics of building or repairing credit, and much more.

"Money Matters": Monday, April 23, 3 p.m. - 4 p.m., Town Bank, 140 S. 1st St., Milwaukee

After completing this course, you'll be able to:

• List the steps for setting financial goals
• Track daily spending habits
• Prepare a spending plan to estimate monthly income and expenses
• Identify ways to decrease spending
• Identify ways to increase income
• Identify spending plan tools that will help you manage your bills

"To Your Credit": Wednesday, April 25, 3 p.m. - 4 p.m., Town Bank, 140 S. 1st St., Milwaukee

After completing this course, you'll be able to:

• Define credit
• Explain why credit is important
• Describe the purpose of a credit report and how it is used
• Order a copy of your credit report
• Read/analyze your credit report to determine if you are ready to apply for credit
• Differentiate between good and bad credit
• Describe the implications of good and bad credit scores
•  Identify ways to build and repair your credit history
• Recognize how to correct errors on your credit report
• Recognize how to guard against identity theft
 

"Financial Recovery": Thursday, April 26. 3 p.m. - 4 p.m., Town Bank, 140 S. 1st St., Milwaukee

After completing this course, you'll be able to:

• Assess your current financial situation
•  Identify ways to increase income and decrease and prioritize expenses
•  Develop a financial recovery plan
• Identify steps to successfully implement a financial recovery plan
• Recognize how to guard against credit repair scams
•  Identify time frames to review and adjust your financial recovery plan
