Sarah E. Grooms, CTP, Vice President and Director of Treasury Management for Town Bank, is being recognized as a recipient of the Forty under 40 in the Milwaukee based publication The Business Journal. Grooms has been with Town Bank since 2001, and was hired on full-time during her internship as a credit analyst. Sarah started the Treasury Management Department for Town Bank in 2006.
Sarah graduated from Carroll University with a Bachelors Degree in Business-Finance in 2001. In 2005, Sarah completed the WBA Graduate School of Banking at Madison and was the first woman to serve as Class President in the history of the school. She has additionally earned her Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation in order to best assist clients, and is currently working on her Masters Degree in Science in Applied Economics at Marquette University. She has spoken previously for TMANE (Boston), Windy City Summit (Chicago), BizTech (Milwaukee), and the InBusiness Series (Madison) in addition to area colleges, as well as appearing on “InBusiness Radio with Jody and Joan”. Sarah also serves on the boards of the LIFE Charter School, Tempo-Waukesha and The Women’s Center. Sarah and her husband Sam live just outside Milwaukee with their son, Joey.
“It is really flattering to be nominated and considering the level of people that were honored this year, I am humbled to be included,” said Grooms. “On the corporate side, in Treasury Management, we work very hard to get our commercial clients’ banking running smoothly to increase companies’ overall efficiency. Of course, none of this would have ever happened without working for a company that encourages us to engage in community-focused activities. The bank gives me every opportunity to succeed and thrive through various avenues and I work very hard to never let them or our customers down.”
This is the 19th year The Business Journal has honored Milwaukee’s up-and-coming leaders. Previous winners include Milwaukee restaurateur Joe Bartolotta, We Energies executive Thelma Sias and Milwaukee Film Festival executive director Jonathan Jackson. The Business Journal received 265 nominations this year. Winners will be honored in a special section February 24th and at a February 27th awards event.
